The Myth
This lake came from sundanese land wich tell about story of a prince and princess who fell in love. but, they love journey was not too good enough to be imagined cause they both were separated by circumstances which make them can't meet each other. Year by year they pass the day to get meet each other with no result. Hit by desperate and confused mind, the prince and princess cry until they were unconscious that the tears formed into a huge lake where they were succeeded reunited again in a big stone which they call the "Love Stone". Reputedly anyone who visit this place with their spouse, then their love will be eternal and inseparable.

Geology
The great lake of Patengan or better known as Situ Patengan by the local, occupying an area of 150 hectare. Formerly this area was an area of nature reserves or national parks, but on 1981 it has been officially transformed into a tourism park. Located about 1600 m above the sea level, the places has a beautiful enchanting panorama. Surrounded by the green area of natural tea plantation, cold climate with fresh air and warm sun on the daylight, will giving the impression of peacefulness and tranquility itself for visitors.
